The Gift Revolution
Hi everyone! It's been a long time since I've blogged, just been super busy at work, but I just had to blog about this right now.
Sometimes, the wierdest things happen to me, and this one is one of them!
Where I work there are two places for breakfast. One is for cuban food and one is for american food. Today, we (the ppl in my office and myself) felt like cuban breakfast. I called in the order and went to pick it up. The cuban place is set up like a farm store, you know, where you drive up on both sides. Since I work in this shopping center, I walked there. There was a girl waiting in line too and we started talking about how wierd it was that we're on foot and the others are in cars. So whatever, she picks up her food first and leaves. Then I get up to the door and the lady (who is the sweetest person you've ever met) comes up to me and gives me my food and is like "the girl already paid for it". Ok. I was just like..."um...ok, thanks!?" I couldn't catch up with the girl to thank me, and I was a little scared to because the lady told me that she had put something in the bag for me. So, whatever, I get to my office and I open it and find a few of the cards for this thing called The Gift Revolution. So, in summary, this was all a part of a chain of gift givers trying to change the world! How cool is that? I mean...seriously....I feel like I should go somewhere and give the money that I was going to spend to someone that needs it!
Now I just don't know if I'm supposed to find this girl and thank her, or just leave it at paying it forward!
About Me
- Joey
- I'm a Christian, vegetarian/vegan 22 yr old girl. I love God and feel very blessed! I am very smart and love learning, even though I don't really like being IN class. I wish I could take all of my classes online and not work, but the reality is, I HAVE to work. But I love my job. I feel important there because I help keep things organized for my boss. I went back to the first church I ever felt at home. The transition has been hard, but I love the people there. I just got the car of my dreams! I can't think of anything else to put here!

Joey, I'm not sure when you posted this because the stupid thing doesn't say the date but I have to tell you this is the sweetest thing I've ever heard in my entire life. I have the chills and I was all hyper but now I'm all teary and it's all your fault (also the coffee's fault..I get moody when I drink too much coffee.)
But I digress.
Beautiful, beautiful gesture, and you know what? If I were that girl, I wouldn't want you to thank me. I think this was a selfless act and thanking her would defeat her purpose. YOu should pay it forward as soon as possible so that more people can get in on it. So, so pretty. Just remember if you do it to leave the thing in the other person's bag too so that they know what happened and they can pay it forward too.
AWWW! I can't get over this story!
THAT is awesome! Wow, I’d heard about stuff like that but never actually heard about it so close to home you know? Seriously, pay it forward. That’s the point…no thanking her. Its enough for her to know that she did her part. WOW. Seriously awesome…amazing…inspiring…LOVE IT!!! Beautiful gesture…
Did you share the story at work???
Did you see the website for this revolution? They have a blog too...and an awesome looking van!
LOL Janet! Yea, it was pretty cool! That happened today, December 10th. The stupid thing is pretty, so I'll forgive it for not putting the date. :)
I will pay it forward!
And yes Tata, I did see the website! That's the first thing I did before posting this!
